stupid question about water flow through DI resin...

Postby tiggertoe » Thu 29 Oct, 2020 12:17 pm

Hey all, I do hope your all well and safe, in these shitty times... anywho... just a stupid question, I got me self a new RO/DO unitl several months ago and even since then been having little issues with me water... Got a icp test done and it told me to change my DI resin, which didnt make sense has its new... So Im tryin gto figure out if I have plumbed it right... I have connected the company where I got it from and still waiting for a response ... So my question:- does water run down through the resin the fills up into the outer section bit and out, or does water run into the outer section bit and then run run up into the resin and out of the RO until??? Or it doesnt make any difference???

Mine, a PSI Filters system, will pass from the outside of the canister toward the centre.

What is an ICP test? TDS is the usual way to keep track of the system performance. My input is running about 100ppm out of the tap, about 3-4ppm RO and 0 DI. Therefore if the DI output starts to increase it's time for a resin change. You've got your location as Makay. Tap water should be pretty good but do you know the average TDI of the tap water?
