HELIX 5000 Testing in Perth Au

Postby Orphek australia » Mon 29 Sep, 2014 1:30 pm

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Due to the large consensus that the Helix series skimmers had re branded Wave line Pp's. Also the fact Orphek is such a new player in the skimmer market. I decided to get one of these skimmers to a lucky MASWA Member at a ridiculously low price for testing. The person involved is NVRENUF and I will pass the reins to this topic to him. My idea was to have an open forum with honest real life updates and full visibility to the National Aquarium community.

I ask a couple of things;
1: Please keep your posts relevant and any negative comments kept to yourself.
2: Please respect NVRENUF and his findings.
3: Please respect the opportunity and visibility being given to you! (The forum users).
4: Please respect ANY other MASA forum users post.

:clap: :clap: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Hi guys

so far I am very happy, Obviously there will be a few days for it to wear in and become stable.
But results so far are looking good.
With in the first 4 hours detuned running low, i could already see crap coming to the top,
not another day in and i am purposely running it wet. until it settles in, but it
already out performing my old unit before being run in.
will up date as the weeks go on.
Looks and feels like a well built unit.

Drain is plumbed directly into my waste drain, though tap is off to monitor how much skim mate i get first.
