1) How Long have you been in the hobby (eg. start date or length of time or a whole paragraph or two on your history in the hobby)?

Started my reef tank when i was 17 with a 30L, a couple of Clowns and Corals. Then upgraded a year later to a 120L, where i then bought my yellow tang (which is still going today).I had that tank for a couple of years and then upgraded again to a 4x2x2 and haven't looked back!

2a) What size is your winning tank, dimensions and litres?

The tank is a 4x2x2 with a centre weir, and a total of 565L including the sump. The tank was made by Marine Plus.

Image

2b) Any reasons for that size tank?

No reason for choosing that size, but wouldn't go any bigger.

2c) How long has this tank been setup?

The tank was started on 30-1-2010, so about 2 1/2 years.

3) Anything you want to say about your stand?

The stand is a 2pac white 800mm high specially made stand (thanks to the guy that made it) .

4) Do you have a sump and/or refugium? If so, what size?

The sump is a 3x.1.5x1.5 with a 4inch Sand bed then 10-20kg of live rock and a Refugium on top of it.

5) Filtration eg. amount of live rock, sand bed or bare bottom, mechanical filtration etc?

Theres around 80 to 100kg of live rock with close to 100x flow hitting it.

Image

6) Do you have a skimmer? If so, what?

The skimmer is have is a reef octopus vortex 2000L with a 138watt pump, which is very noisy and i will be looking to upgrade soon to something a little bit smaller and uses a lot less power

7) Water flow/movement (powerheads etc)?

2 x Ecotech Marine mp40w and 2x6000l wave makers.

Image

8) Lighting, type and times?

Giesemann Infini 2x250watt Phoenix 14000 and 4x54watt t5 1xActintic 1xBlueplus 1x FujiPurple 1x ProC oral.

9) Other equipment such as auto topoff, Ca reactor etc?

Kamoer Dosing pumps are being used, i am very happy with them as they have made my tank much more stable.

10) Water parameters?

Ca- 400ppm , Alk- 7kh , Mg -1450ppm , Po4 - 0.05-0.15ppm , N03 - 0ppm , K - 400ppm , Fe - 0-0.000003ppm
