The purpose of this forum is to allow people to showcase their tanks, and allow other uses to ask questions on equipment, livestock, methodology etc.

The purpose of this forum is to allow people to showcase their tanks, and allow other uses to ask questions on equipment, livestock, methodology etc.

Each user is permitted to start one post regarding their tank, which they may update as often as they wish. Anyone may respond with questions, comments and constructive suggestions. The moderators will prune out any off topic chit chat that may occur, simply to make it easier for all members to browse through the forum, and get as much information as easily as possible.

If you wish to search for a particular users thread, simply search this forum only, with the search parameter being the users name whos tank you wish to read about, and you will easily find it.

If you have any questions about the use of this forum etc, please ask in this thread, in order to keep the forum as usefull and easily searchable as possible.

Just a little something to assist people to get their journal under way. Will also give those reading the journals some consistency as they go through them. Please note this is in no way compulsory, just a helping / guiding hand. Feel free to add it retrospectively if you have a journal running.

Copy the code between the {code} thingy's and paste it into your first post of the journal, modify to suit :thumbsup:

I'm new to RTAW and am setting up my Tank Journal. you mention placing all the aquarium livesock and equipment details in the registries in MyMASA. When it comes to forums and the like I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed :stupid:

so if you can give me some instruction on how to do this it would be appreciated

Hi MyMASA is no longer available.
Someone needs to fix that up.

Introduction:
Hi, I am Jacques, Jac will do just fine. I had an 8ft 500 gal marine tank, set up in 1990 and maintained for 20 years while living in Asia.
We have settled back into life in Oz, and are just about to pour the slab on an extension to the house. This will be a large room, lounge and dining, with pride of place being the new Aquarium as the divider.

System Objectives: A full reef tank, that can be maintained well, despite 3 young kids.

System Type: Mixed Reef

Display System:

Strike up Date: TBA

Display Tank: 2800L x 1100W x 850 H

Display Lighting: T5 HO and LEDs

Stand: Steel, powder coated

Hood: full hood, on ceiling mounted actuator to rise 60 cm for access

Sump: Located in the basement, 12 meters away and 1 fllor down. Size approx. 2000L x 750W x 500H

Refugium: TBA

Refugium Lighting:TBA


Support systems:

System Water: Natural salt water

Display Water circulation: Closed Loop

Return Pump:TBA

Skimmer: JNS

Evaporation Top Up:Auto topup


Chemical Support:

Calcium Addition: TBA
Alkilinity Addition: TBA
Other Chemical Maintenance: Magnesium etc

Current Water Chemistry: 0
