Pocillopora Regrowth

Postby Fancy1 » Thu 23 Nov, 2017 3:36 pm

Hi all

I have just obtained a small pink pocci colony and the bottom half is just skeleton due to where it was in the previous tank. I have it situated in the front of my tank and just want to know if it will regrow down and cover the old skeleton?

Cheers

It should do. It's pretty common to see healthy SPS quicky cover the base of a plug or epoxy putty

They can encrust downwards and outwards, though less likely if shaded. Certain colours grow in shaded areas better than others. I find the greens quite good for lower light. Pinks don't like the shading very much at all.
