My Coral Beauty is a weirdo!

Postby Ulven » Wed 31 Jan, 2018 6:50 pm

My Coral Beauty is a very strange character. When ever I have introduced new fish into the tank it usually spends the first 30 minutes of their time in the tank gently fanning them with it's tail fin. It never seems to chase them or bite but just straddles up to them and it's tail fin and anal fin makes a gentle waving motion. It does it to established inhabitants from time to time as well but with much less concentration. It makes me laugh when it does it to the Mandarin and Blenny because they just sit there and look confused.

Has anyone else experience similar behavior from their Coral Beauty fish?

Yep. A form of aggression.

Usually pretty cool with everyone but can be an a$$ occasionally. I find the coral beauty one of the most beautiful fish but thats just me.
