Seahorse Availability in Aus

Postby S1L3NT » Mon 20 Feb, 2017 12:36 pm

Looking to get myself some seahorses for my tank and have been trying to figure out sources for seahorses and what species in general we can get here in Aus. Looks to be a fairly limited choice of suppliers (Namely seahorse australia in TAS). Even they seem to have a limited number of species.

Personally i'd like to get H. Erectus (Lined Seahorse) but from my googling it seems hit and miss to find them :(

Does anyone have a source for Erectus or seahorses in general outside of the above mentioned company? Hoping to get captive bred too (which is also fairly limited for us as far as I can tell?)

Thanks all!

Have seen seahorses in Aquarium Gallery Perth, but don't know what variety.

Talk to Chris Blunden out at JZ Marine in Appin.
He has some seahorses in Stock now but I'm not sure what specific breed.
He should be able to sort you out though if he doesn't have it in Stock.

Thank you both :) I'll give AGP a call, wasn't aware they did marine stuff.

I've spoken to JZ Marine, he has WA Seahorses which seem to be in every LFS right now... But said he can source Kudas and Barbouri so he is a fall back if I dont find Erectus i'm chasing :)
