Kris's 4x2x2 FOWLR

The purpose of this forum is to allow people to showcase their tanks, and allow other uses to ask questions on equipment, livestock, methodology etc.
Specifically for Diverse Tanks (Cubes, Squares, Triangular) (Fish Only with Live Rock, Predator Tanks, Temperate Tanks) (non-photosynthetic tanks, Marine Plant/Algae Tanks, Greenhouse Tanks)

Kris's 4x2x2 FOWLR

Introduction:Finally decided to set up another saltwater tank after years of inactivity and concentrating of African Cichlids.

System Objectives: At this stage, keeping the fish alive. :clownfish:

System Type: Fish only with mostly predators

Strike up Date:: ???

Display Tank: 4x2x2. I wanted bigger but don't have the space.

Tank Overflow: Internal weir, 19mm & 25mm bulkheads.

Display Lighting: T5 at this stage.

Stand: 90cm high wood/MDF stand which I made myself. ;)

Hood: N/A

Sump: Probably 2x18x18, skimmer compartment.

Refugium: N/A

Refugium Lighting: N/A

Support systems:

System Water: Natural/ASW

Display Water circulation: Cheap Powerheads

Return Pump: ???

Skimmer: ???

Evaporation Top Up: Manual

Evaporation Top Up Source: Probably R/O unit

Heater: 300w

Water Changes: ???

Livestock: None Yet :bawling:

Original stand was too small. I needed to get it about 1metre high to match my cichlid tank.

Tank cleaned out. About to start drilling bulkhead holes and making a weir. :crossfingers:

Whats everyones opininion, should i keep the blue background with the black weir or paint the background black??

Keep in mind, i have my cichilid tank next to this one and the background is also painted blue.

Tank is ready to get wet however no one is delivering NSW at the moment. :grump:

nice work on the overflow mate,

I would probably go with a black background, will look better when the coralline starts going mad :)

I kept it blue as I got a few tanks with a blue background in the room aswell.

Too much hassle and fiddling around with it. Gone back to Cichlids for the time being. :roflmao:
