Seen the tank in person, it looks amazing. The colours on the SPS was very nice. See if you can get someone in the club to pop around one day with a camera :D

Love this tank

Just finished a new algea scrubber upgrade and removed my DSB - this gives me another 20g of water volume. I also installed a new larger skimz bio pellet reactor too.

Here's the new scrubber

The usual box waterfall design

Already had some LEDs made up (660 reds & a few 350 blues)
Image
The sump is outside so a cover for the drivers (holes for heat transfer)

Cover for the LEDs (super bright)

You've got some serious DIY skills there Chop. Great work

Will be good to follow the results you get with your ATS v2.0

I love the natural lighting from the tube, my tank's adjacent to a window and I get a bit of direct sun in the winter when its low, the colours on the fish go electric.
Looking forward to seeing the results from the new scrubber to

Thanks mate

I haven't had a summer with the tube yet and still need to redo my led arrangement to accommodate it but I'm looking forward to seeing any changes in growth etc..

The scrubber should work well and I can't wait till I get it cranked up with turf. This should let me feed more like I'm planning to do for my gonni adventure.

Cheers

1 week's growth (2nd week in real time but I had a sump malfunction and the scrubber was left dry a few days while I fixed it)

Is that after cleaning?

If not maybe just leave it until it grows something decent.

No it's before cleaning - from a new screen though, so will take about 3-4 weeks to develope some decent algae.

That's looking like its starting to take off.

Are you seeing any impact in tank parameters as yet?
If nothing else an ongoing supply of pods is a good thing.

Hi

I'm going to use my purple stag and stylo as indicators (my nitrates & PO4 have been low for a while no but these corals have been consistently browned out)

Getting a little colour back after two weeks

Pods are numerous - vid using trusty iPhone of pods in bucket from scrubber after cleaning

I had a week off so decided to strip down the tank to replace all my substrate (too many sulphur patches and I wanted to try a finer grade sand)

So after a solid few days I have a new aquascape which is more of a u shaped wall, a new sand bed that looks great, and a nice blue back glass again

Not yet - still in the hole for flooding the lounge room after the refill horror story :scared: (forgot that when I moved the tank off the walls (for the future mp10's  ) I forgot to lengthen the return pipe and well .....you can guess the rest.

They will help the overall look which will help sell it - the tang sale will go towards them too  .

Lol "still in the hole" -With new gear I avoid any grief or approval issues by waiting until she's either out or asleep before installing.

Nice scape Chop

Do you still have the Ric garden?

Water on the floor is inevitable with fish tanks

I can sympathize with the water on the floor...

I have a Ryobi wet / dry vacuum that I bought for the shed and it has had far more use for water spills than shed work :(

Thanks, I think the colour is gradually coming back on some of the purple acros because of it. I'll know more once summer hits.
