Just blue strips (with a little white) about 50% power down. The colours seem to work well like this (albeit iPhone)

Tank looks great, mass of color and movement! Read a bit about scrubbers but no room for one on current tank, let us now if it does the job always interested in different ways of doing things.

Algae Scrubber, huh? Looks cool! Looks like a nice natural way to remove phosphates and nitrates  I think most of us use Rowaphos, or something chemically similar. Love to see how this goes for you!

Yeh I've been using antiphos for a while with good results but if this works (as it should) I hope to get no excess nutrients, be able to feed heaps and my pods are already going crazy (which the mandarin is going to love). Skimmerless may or may not be achievable but if I can get rid of the GFO then it will be a success for me.

The thread to "algae scrubbers" has a bunch of results, trials etc.

Cheers

Hey Choppa, just read thread and realised that I swapped you a couple of corals a while back. I got a green chalice and an encrusting horn coral and I gave you a bit of branching reverse hammer.

Yeh I remember - hope they are all going well?

I still got frags of the chalice and the horn coral is now stuck on the glass :)

The shrimpy is a saron or marbled shrimp - they also come in green but are known to nibble on your prized zoa's. I have not seen mine do this so I threw in another one recently cause I think they look cool. Besides I feed a lot so this will help.

No problems

So far with ATS (everything else unchanged - food in, skimmer, water changes etc)

Wk 1 - PO4 = 0.06 Hanna Egg
Wk 2 - PO4 = 0.03

Purple stag just getting a little colour back in the tip. Yellow bird nests little brighter

Blue acro very blue these days

But I hope to get the army green back into this one of acro Al's. The stylo is suppose to be purple but that was purchased in browned out condition so am not sure about it still?

Is that before or after cleaning? That is usually how mine looks after cleaning. If you are still running phosphate removers, you might want to leave it 10-14 days before cleaning.

This is before cleaning :(

I think i'm about 100w of light too low to get a nice algae mat like yours. My new leds and heat sinks have arrived so just need the barrel connectors now and i can start my led build for it.

My PO4 is hovering on 0.05 ish so I might just change out the GFO while im waiting to get the ATS powered up though. Besides i need to use it up.

Depends how long the lights are on for. I reckon it is growing alright at the moment. If it is growing green algae then just wait an extra few days before you clean it.

Yeah, you probably do need more light then. I never had much success with the light recommendations on the algae scrubber site, but found that when the lights were on 18 hrs I would get a lot of yellow algae and I cut the hours back until it was nice bright green.

Might be an idea to wait extra time though anyway, all algae filters, its just the light green that does the most of it.

Thanks

Yeh, pics are not that flash realy. I'll have to get hold of a nice camera one day and give that a go.

As for colours, not specific I don't think, but in general I've convinced myself the tank looks better off - however that could be because of the effort that went into installing it  The sky light needs lowering too.

Suppliment lighting but to be honest it only brightens the corners

Thanks , the pics don't do it justice really. I wish I could get some better ones but the curved glass and more likely, my photography skills make it hard.

Will try again with a better cam when I can get the purples and pinks to shine. (might be a while though cause they just go brown as soon as I add them :-s )
