There is a stockist here in adelaide that picked up 2 from the last aqua depot order and are selling them for 699 (sold already)

The also mentioned that the 2 units were pre orders and they had been waiting since beg November

I hate waiting

There was a pre order special offered through selected retailers. Those that ordered and paid in advance got them for $699

Got mine in Adelaide.

Works fine. I did however brick it after doing an update.

Be warned - they're not kidding about updating via wifi.
Don't do it! Despite one section of the manual not mentioning it, it is covered elsewhere.

I had to re flash everything after it scrambled it

You can update with the computer over wifi to the router as long as the unit is plugged into the router with its wifi off....

Damn!! this is what detering me from buying the APEX, the absolute lack of stock anywhere.

Had there been a unit available (anywhere i went) i would have picked one up.

But now i worry about hings like what if i want a module, or a part how long do i have to wait for stock?

It only JUST came out ggoosen. Demand was hight will be a full range stocked by Aquadepot. Just have to wait for the hype to die down or put your order in with your LFS and it will turn up when stock is back in OZ.

Don't quote me on this but the grapevine has told me new stock will hopefully land in Oz early-mid Feb. I'm personally waiting on an ORP probe :crossfingers:

I'm going to need the vortex controller and break out board for mine. So I guess I'll wait a few months after ordering to get them

Is there anyway that the apex controller can work using wifi? Instead of ethernet?

I got mine from LFS in Adelaide (one of the 2 mentioned before). ggooosen I have installed it to my home wifi network with a NETGEAR range extender WN2500RP.
It was a EASY to due and now I have an extra 4 Ethernet ports to play with away from my modem and wifi router. (I'm thinking fish room cam no :D).

You don't want to use wifi to do updates but once that's sorted I don't see any reason you couldn't build a wireless bridge if you've got a spare router. That's what I'm hoping to do

Once the initial demand gas calmed down I don't think supply will be an issue

Also, at the moment the Apex itself is out of stock but a lot of the modules are still available

So wifi to the router then cable from said router to apex...but make sure router wifi is off? If you only have one router that's going to be difficult.

Most people only have 1 modem/router/wifi combo so it's simpler to just say "don't do it"

I would just use home plugs or Ethernet over power. Speeds not great but it does the job and no wifi needed.

Telstra has Online SMS, I haven't played with the SMS functions but it may be possible for someone with time and know how to use it

Mines hanging via cable.

Do not fully submerge the PH - it will lessen its life (refer to manual)

My temp is however fully submersed as it wasn't reading right half hanging out - I believe the heat in the hood was altering the reading.

For those looking for a cheaper option to wifi connect I picked up a tp link at msy for$28 pics below.

Although I had originally stated home power plugs or Ethernet of power will work but not that it will not work on a ups

The other benefit of this little item is that it's tiny and takes up no space

So my understanding of is that this is a tiny wireless router which you use to create a wireless bridge, correct? handy little item, beats using a full size router to create a bridge.

I haven't done it myself but I've known of people who used a piece of polystyrene. Jest cut holes in is so the probes fit snugly, push them as far through as you can so as it's not to heavy (without submerging them to far) and float it in you DT or sump
