Yes, we are getting a large range of LED lights from 60w to 300w units in the current BSLED shape (not BSLED) in fresh water and marine configurations. T8 Florescent High power LED tubes in 2ft, 3ft and 4ft. High powered LED light fittings full auto with lunar cycle, sunrise-sunset with remote control.
Should be a interesting year next year. We will concentrate on LED lights and fish food. I think fish food will come down dramatically next year :roflmao:  .

Mounting options is hanging only but you would easily be able to mount this inside a hood

Ditto to the 150's... I am very keen to give a 150/160w with 3w chips, dimmable (?remote) with full control of blue white moon lights... Are you getting the ones out of China with the USA Cree bulbs ?

Is there an issue not mounting them as i would have them sitting ontop of the tank?
I currently do not have a hood or anywhere to hang the led for my std 2 foot tank.
Would i need a 120w for a std 2ft?

You can mount any LED fixtures on the tank no worries! Just be warry that salt creep with shorten their life and make them corrode faster!

Will 120w be right? Depends what is in your 2ft tank.. Softies, Zoa's and the like in the corners would be fine... I think you would be restricted with LPS and def with SPS in the shadier areas (corners). The 120w fixtures are small. Directly under though - SPS will thrive with proper reef husbandary..

Of note, many people I have spoken to think lights are the magic fix to a tank that is just average - but they are not... and many are dissapinted - LED's will only make a stable well cared for tank better.

I am personally going the 150w fixture for my 2ft cube, more for spread with the bigger casing size of the 150w fixtures, not that you need the intensity of 150w - its more the spread.

From what I have researched, the PAR drops pretty sharply when moving the sensor to the corners, out from under the LED's

I will be getting Andries' dimmable ones too, as this will help with graduating the intensity.. many people say "dimmable" is a gimmic as it alters the PAR by altering the voltage supplied to "dim" - I dont care about that - I just want to use it primarily as a tool to help my corals adjust initially - then I will run it at 100% for ever more probably. (Maybe a ramp up and down sunrise and sun set for aesthetics if they are fully programmable - but thats a secondary reason for chosing these)

I will be changing to a 150W LED from a 150W MH with 100W T5 (total 250W) - the LED fixture will still produce a more intense light... and the problem is the corals can sometimes bleach out due to the free radical bleaching from 02 overproduction from the commensal zooxanthellae being overstimulated initially. Careful maintenance of water conditions, supplementing with Strontium has been shown to prevent this, and ensuring other elemental irons are right, and appropriate coral feeding can only help too to prevent this well documented adjustment phenomenon. Of course this is in addition to either dimming or progressively moving the lights closer to the water surface.

Good luck with your choice
