these are some new photos of the baby snowflakes at day 8 post hatch. Some of the babies already have the first head stripe, from experience it is these early ones which will show the snowflake and more will come on as they grow.

Well Done again going well
Just wondering your add in the classifieds states snow onyx X B & W Darwin just wanting to clarify the parents as if one parent is a full Darwin black and white and crossed with a onyx
If so I may be interested in a pair as this would be the first in the country
Any pics of the parent would be great
Cheers
Ben

Hi Ben,

Yes the female is a black and white Darwin and the male is a snow onyx, I don't have any photos of the parents and wouldn't be able to get any till the weekend or later as they are at Ross place. There are some lovely young , some with neally pure white from head to tail and others with holes (birdshot) and some with just the big white bands. They are developing all the time but gees some are just incredible.
Let me know what you might like and I will try and pick some fish and take a couple of photos.
I defiantly think these are the first in country and first australian breed.

Picked up a pair from Peter yesterday, very strong fish which shows they have been raised very well. Dropped them into a small tank I have growing sea weed as a natural filter for display tank with 4 little runt oscillaris I have left over from my last breeding batch about 2 years ago. They settled immediately into the group of 4 and look like they have been there for ages. I'll leave them there for a while to grow and later remove/sell/give away the 4 oscillaris.

Hi All,
Thought I might do a bit of a update snowflakes are going well and we have some left from the current batch and also have another batch in grow out, maybe two months away from them being ready yet. But still some lovely fish available.
There are quite a few orange and white occies available, with quite a few more coming up in the next couple of months.

Okay so what else is happening, well we have managed to secure some lovely platinums and some Picasso to add to our breeding stock. Oh and speaking of picassos we have now got three hatches in grow out and another batch from different parentage, just hatched on Saturday and growing well. One of the hatches numbered 64'odd fish, and this one looks like it is even bigger. :baby:

Recently we managed to secure a wild caught pair of the Darwin black and white and have now got our second hatch from these fish, the fish hatch is now 4 weeks old and growing well, with the latest batch about 2 weeks and doing very well, maybe 60 to 80 in this group, bit hard to tell until I move them into the grow out tanks. :)

Oh nearly forgot to add that I have added more tanks to the grow out system so now have 10 tanks in the grow out system.

Well that's about it's for now, will post pics as the babies grow and changes start to happen. Back to cleaning water changes and feeding. :poke:

Hi Randell,
Yes there are some available now, just released.
Parents have gone on strike so this is the last for some time, well until they get back to breeding.
They are $200 a pair or $250 a pair for the premiums plus freight if not in Brisbane .

Cheers Peter
