Can anyone ID these eggs please?

Just bought a new peice of liverock for my nano tank & when i pulled it out of the water i found a small bunch of what looks like eggs. Has anyone seen these before? Any help would be very appreciatted.

it's like you've got a lucky dip thing going on

hopefully they're mutant aliens eggs or something cooler

No idea to be honest and as many marine organisms have a planktonic/pelagic larvel stage after hatching and look nothing like the adult critter it may even be hard to ID once hatched. Should be able to tell whether its fish/crustacean/snail etc but aside from that ?????

Chances are that soon after they hatch, the other tank residents will have a feed so probably a theoretical question only.

Thanks Butters, there are no livestock in the tank at the moment. Don't want to put anything in if i am going to kill the little critters.
